What is Baccarat Squeeze?
The game is played with 8 decks and the game plays the same as the original version, except for the “squeeze”. This is a slow reveal of a small part of the face down card to give a glimpse of the suit and potential number. The squeeze is so slight it is not possible to identify for sure the card, but it gives you a hint at the possible outcome. This process adds a certain amount of dramatic tension to the game. The physical squeeze itself is done very carefully and professionally. In live baccarat squeeze, the dealer places their thumb over the card number in the two top corners. They then bend the card, raising the edge in a 90 degree angle. The dealer then rotates the card and repeats the process so the long edge of the card is revealed.
Each squeeze has a term to help indicate what the card value is.
Squeezing Paint: The edge of a picture means the card is a Jack, Queen or King and its point value is zero.
Squeeze an ace: If you can’t see anything at all you know you’ve hit an ace.
If you have a pip in the centre of the top of the card it’s called a point. If you have a point, you have a 2 or a 3.
For a pair of points, the term is referred to as “having legs”. This means you have 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10. If you have legs, the side squeeze will reveal key information.
